This September, we marked 25 years of operating as Traxxon Rock Drills with a weekend in Victoria, BC. Our team and their partners came together to celebrate, spend time outside of work, and recognize the people who have helped shape the company.

Some headed out golfing, others went whale watching, and some enjoyed time at the spa. Throughout the weekend, we had the opportunity to catch up, share memories and reflect on how far Traxxon has come.

While this anniversary celebrates 25 years under the Traxxon Rock Drills name, our industry roots stretch back to 1963.

The business originally focused on track-mounted drilling solutions for forestry road construction along British Columbia’s rugged coast. Working in those conditions called for resourcefulness, technical knowledge and equipment that could meet the demands of the job.

One of the most distinctive examples of that approach was the T-800H tank drill. Combining repurposed military undercarriage components with custom fabrication and engineering, it became a defining part of our history. Its unusual design helped the business stand out and build the reputation that would shape Traxxon’s future.

That willingness to find practical solutions continues today through our in-house TR-EX attachments, custom builds and the work our team does to support customers facing challenging drilling conditions.

There have been many milestones along the way, from new equipment partnerships and expanded service capabilities to our move from Burnaby to Port Kells in Surrey.

Today, Traxxon supports customers working in construction, forestry, geotechnical drilling, foundations, mining and other demanding applications. Partnerships with Sandvik, Comacchio, ABI and EURODRILL have helped broaden the equipment and technical solutions we can offer. The expansion of our foundation equipment offering in 2023 was another step in meeting the changing needs of our customers.

Through that growth, equipment, parts, service and technical support have remained closely connected. Understanding the machine is one part of the work. Understanding the customer’s project, challenges and need to keep moving is just as essential.

Our history has been shaped by the people who show up every day, share their knowledge and take pride in their work.

We want to give special recognition to our long-serving team members: Steve Cross, Lloyd Jenkinson, Shaun Norman, Mark Hooge, Mark Bilesky, Josh Furmanczyk, Brandon Zimmer, Dave De Groot, Nathan Fengler, Sharon Alvarico, Tony Bagaric and Imelda Ferriols.

Their dedication, experience and relationships have helped carry the business through years of growth and change. Steve Cross, a former owner of Traxxon, has also played an important role in the company’s journey.

That depth of experience matters. It lives in the knowledge shared across the shop, the familiarity with machines that have been working for decades, and the relationships built with customers over time.

We are grateful to every member of our team, including those who have joined more recently and are helping write the next chapter.

To our employees, their partners, our customers and our suppliers: thank you.

Your dedication, support and trust have helped bring Traxxon to this milestone. We are proud of our history, grateful for the people who have shaped it, and excited to keep building on it.

Here’s to 25 years of Traxxon, and to everyone who has been part of the journey.
